Sounds like a fantastic week with special people in an amazing area! Kind of reminds me of the first BCBR I did with Kip Mikler. So many gracious locals wanting to show off and share their backyard goods. MTB stage racing is my absolute favorite type of bike racing mainly because of the friendships you make over the course of a week. Finishing on 07/07/07 also made it pretty schweet.
That’s awesome! BCBR is on my list. Only other MTB stage race I’ve done is Breck Epic, which is also great, but the altitude makes it so brutal. Even though Appenninica was longer, I felt better in the end because it was more or less sea level.
